New Turnover Prop Celebrations for the 2022 College Football Season
Turnover chain? More like turnover lame.
By Maury Levine
With the proliferation of name, image, and likeness deals for college football players, the age of new turnover celebrations has arrived. Listed below are several of the new prop celebrations taking the college football world by storm:
The Turnover Teddy
Build a Bear Workshop has signed a NIL deal with the University of Michigan. Instead of hoisting up the tired old chain, this year Wolverine defenders will triumphantly raise Wolvey the Turnover Bear. Wolvey will be clad in a little blue and maize uniform and is sure to be a favorite with Michigan-loving children everywhere.
The Turnover Rubik's Cube
Georgia Tech just signed a deal with Rubik's Cube so that after every Yellow Jacket turnover recovery, the defenders will raise and solve a five-foot-tall Rubik's Cube. It's also another reminder that Georgia Tech is a "smart school."
The Turnover Turnover
Florida State University has inked a NIL deal with Publix Supermarkets to have their beastly defenders lift a giant replica turnover, just like the delicious turnovers from the Publix bakeries. In addition, the first-team Seminole defense will also hand out hot Publix turnovers to the first one hundred lucky fans in attendance.
The Turnover Crystals
The UCLA Bruins have reached an agreement with Swarovski to have their valiant defenders display an array of Swarovski's unique crystal offerings. After recovering a fumble, they'll display an elegant floral necklace around their muscular necks. If the defense records an interception, they'll show off a lucent cocktail ring on their strong, sweaty hands.
The Turnover Oil Change
Thanks to a deal with Jiffy Lube, Mississippi State Bulldog defenders are now in on the NIL action. After a successful turnover recovery, the player will raise a giant replica can of Pennzoil in celebration. The entire defense will then run off the field and to a lucky fan's car where they will perform a complimentary oil change in under twenty minutes. A pick-six is good for the added bonus of a tire rotation.
The Turnover Anvil
The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners have signed a lucrative deal with the ACME Corporation. After a Roadrunner takeaway, the defenders will hoist a giant ACME anvil and parade it from end zone to end zone. In addition, ACME is supplying ACME rocket-powered shoes to all UTSA players and giving out bags of ACME birdseed to all spectators at the game.
